"Dialogo nel Buio"

In cooperation with Istituto David Chiossone, ERG is partner in the project “Dialogo nel Buio” (Dialogue in the dark), for the first time in Genoa.

“Dialogo nel Buio” (Dialogue in the Dark) is more than an exhibition; it is a true educational experience. Indeed, it offers the opportunity to discover an alternative way of relating to the world around us and understanding, openly and beyond all prejudices, the daily reality of those living with disability.
In this context of inverted roles, where visitors completely depend on the experience of the blind guides, there is also the opportunity to transform disability into a specific and invaluable professional quality.

Dialogo nel Buio will be inaugurated in Genoa the 14th October 2011, in a self-standing structure of approximately 250sq mt located in Caricamento Square, in front of the 'Porto Antico' area, until the 1st July 2012.

In lack of light the world doesn't "turn off" : blind people simply have a different experience of our day-to-day things. Also in consideration of that Dialogo nel Buio (Dialogue in the Dark) is a real therapy against the fear of diversity and an important opportunity to enhance, support and spread a social culture based on understanding and on integration of the different life experiences.

"Guida Sicura" Project

Since 2007, ERG has supported the “Guida Sicura per i Giovani” (Safe driving for young people) project, set up by the Centro di Guida Sicura Drivemotion (Drivemotion Centre for Safe Driving) and aimed at high school students of the Ponente area in Genoa who have just passed their driving test, with the collaboration of the European Parliament, of the Province of Genoa (Councillor for Roads and Provincial Police) of the Ponente Municipality, of the Traffic Police, of the Italian Red Cross and of the regional and provincial education offices of the Ministry of Education.

In harmony with the measures set out by the National Plan for Road Safety and by the European Commission, the course is a real awareness campaign focusing on the correct use of the car, with particular attention being paid to the danger of driving while tired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

DrivEmotion Practical Test 2011

The first part of the course involves theory lessons with the help of video screenings, to learn important driving concepts, such as the correct position of the driver, emergency braking, safe distances and seatbelt use.

The second practical part, on the other hand, offers the young people the possibility to put the techniques learned during the first part into practice at the wheel with the support of the Drivemotion Centre for Safe Driving instructors and with the collaboration of professional racing drivers, on a large, specially-equipped area at Fascia di Rispetto in the Prà district of Genoa, in the Ponente area of Genoa.
The fifth edition of the project, which took place inMarch 2011 and was very successful, involving around 300 students, met its ”objective of training young drivers to be more capable, mature, responsible and, above all, aware of their own limits with regard to controlling the car in critical situations”.
