ERG and Sport

U.C. Sampdoria

ERG, after having been the Main Sponsor of UC Sampdoria for more than nine years, will now be the corporate partner of the team and it wishes to support the team’s challenging projects for the coming football season and pay particular attention to activities involving young people.
In fact, ERG, in line with its policies of CSR towards the local area, retains its role as the naming sponsor of the "Ravano ERG Tournament", the spirit of which fits perfectly into a perspective of enhancing and promoting sport for young people.

Fair Play Village

With the support of Serie B Win, FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe), the Region of Liguria, the Municipality of Genoa, the Province of Genoa and the Province of Savona, Sampdoria is promoting the Fair Play Village, a new initiative, the only one of its kind in Italy, which has the objective of re-launching the image of Football as sport and enjoyment, contributing and promoting the image of the teams’ home cities and helping visiting fans to get to know them.
At the end of the match there is the ‘Third Half’; this experiment has been borrowed from rugby where it is now the norm and it aims to create a festive atmosphere, putting aside the match result and focusing attention on values such as friendship, fairness and equality of people.

Stelle nello Sport

Since 2003, ERG has supported Stelle nello Sport (Sporting Stars), an event organised by the LiguriaSport.com agency, sponsored by the Liguria Regional Government, the Province of Genoa, the Municipality of Genoa and the Italian National Olympic Committee in Liguria. The aim of the initiative is to promote the varied sporting scene in Liguria, young people and the local area, providing an important showcase for the selected sportspeople and giving voters the possibility to compete in draws for large prizes.

The project is linked to a large charity initiative, fund raising for the Associazione Gigi Ghirotti, a voluntary association which offers free health care and psychological support for terminally ill patients.

In 2011, as the Gold Sponsor at the 12h Edition, the ERG brand name was linked to one of the most important and coveted prizes of the event, the “Sportivo BIG Maschile ERG” Trophy (click here to see the placings list for the Trophy ).

11th National Petroleum Cycling and Running Championship

For a lot of people, the National Petroleum Cycling and Running Championship is just one of those many sporting events that they hear about, which is reserved for those few ‘mad’ people who are fond of ‘exertive’ sports and who love to spend their free time wearing out running shoes on the tarmac or clocking up kilometres in the saddle of a bicycle.

However, those who have participated in the event at least once know that the Petroleum Championship is much more than a simple sporting event.

It is a fascinating experience and everyone who takes part in it cannot help but enjoy themselves, because of both the human aspects and the competitive ones.

The history of the Petroleum Championship goes back to 2000 and, thanks to the willingness of a different Oil Company to organise the event each year, it has always been very successful and been widely participated in by athletes.

The size and the visibility of the event have increased each year and the extent of its success is shown by the ever-increasing number of participating athletes, which reached 200 in the latest editions.

In the last 10 editions of the Championship, ERG has had a place on the podium no less than 8 times, 5 of which on the highest level.
