People

People constitute ERG’s human capital and they make a fundamental contribution to the creation of value that is sustainable over time.
Setting out a step-by-step career path and training are the two strategic and interdependent elements through which the Group “looks after” its people from the moment they arrive.
The career path supports an extremely important and delicate objective which is that of training the managers of the future internally, identifying the ideal characteristics of such managers and the practical steps which should be taken in order to help develop these characteristics.
In particular, ERG aims to encapsulate its own 5-point Competence System into the management development plan. The 5 points are considered fundamental in order to meet the business objectives.
- teamwork: working together on common objectives
- leadership: being recognised by others as a leader
- coaching: helping people and the team to develop
- intrapreneurship: guaranteeing results and seizing opportunities
- vision: seeing the bigger picture and planning next steps
Training is the hub around which the career path rotates; it accompanies the employee from his/her entry into the organisation and aims at meeting both cross-cutting objectives, i.e. those that apply to all people who belong to the Group, and individual ones.
At ERG there is also a “less traditional” type of training, which takes place outdoors in a sort of “training gym” and where the concepts summarized in the competences system are put to the test using concrete experiences.
The aim is to develop trust between colleagues, a sense of belonging, a spirit of innovation and the desire to face challenges which become more and more absorbing.
