Sustainability

Renewable sources, energy efficiency and climate change: these are the themes around which ERG has defined a series of objectives which aim to guarantee the long-term sustainability of the company.

• Develop energy production from renewable sources through a business plan which forecasts an overall capacity of 429 MW in 2013, in Italy and abroad, 369 MW of which will be from wind energy.

• Improve the energy efficiency by 20% in thermoelectric power generation by the end of 2011and improve the energy efficiency of the refining process by 5% through energy saving activities energy saving activities (e.g. ENergy COnservation projects).

• Cut CO₂ emissions by 1.2 million tonnes by 2013.
  Between 2006 and 2010 around 586,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions were cut.
