| 2000 | ISAB Energy began producing and marketing electricity: the IGCC plant [Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle], which is Europe’s largest and the third largest in the world, since 2000, has been generating electricity using the raw material of asphalt, the last residue of the ISAB Impianti Sud Refinery’s process. |
| 2004 | The Edoardo Garrone Foundation was created, as a natural development of the involvement on the part of the ERG Group and the Garrone and Mondini families in the social and cultural field. |
| 2006 | ERG acquired a 51.33% equity interest in ENERTAD, a listed company operating in the sector of electricity generation from renewable sources.The acquisition of the Enertad shareholding constituted a decisive step within the scope of the strategies pursued by ERG aimed at enhancing and consolidating its position in the field of renewable energy. |
| 2007 | Sustainability Report (GRI - Level C) ERG supports LIPU (Lega Italiana Protezione Uccelli, Italian League for Bird Protection), the organisation that manages the Saline di Priolo Nature Reserve, in building the structures necessary for bird watching in the wet region. |
| 2008 | ERG achieved control of 77.4% of Enertad’s share capital. Coinciding with acquisition of the ERG Power & Gas renewable energy assets, Enertad changed its company name to ERG Renew. Through a three-year programme, conditional grant to the Provincial Health Authority in order to build the Oncological Assistance Network for the province of Syracuse. |
| 2009 | Important measures for adapting to the environment were completed and have enabled the environmental performance of the Northern power plant in Priolo to be significantly improved. |
| 2010 | In July ERG Renew completed acquisition of two wind farms, whose overall capacity totals 101.8 MW, belong to the company ERG Eolica Adriatica Srl (formerly IVPC Power 5 Srl); installed capacity in operation totalling 245.9 MW. In April the Plogastel wind farm (9.2 MW) came into commercial operation (There are currently 6 facilities with a total installed capacity of 64.4 MW). ERG joins the INDA Onlus non-profit organisation as a supporting partner; this association organises the annual Cycle of Classical Performances at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse. |
| 2011 | May 20th: Creation of LUKERG Renew, a joint venture in the renewable energy sector. ERG Renew and LUKOIL-Ecoenergo today signed an agreement for the creation of a 50-50 joint venture, LUKErg Renew, which is to be based in Vienna June 23th: ERG expands in the Italian wind market via the acquisition of 5 wind farms with an overall capacity of 112 MW. |
| 2012 | February 2nd: ERG Renew enters the Bulgarian wind market. LUKERG Renew acquires a 10% market share by purchasing a 40 MW wind farm. |
